BFL Sock Yarn in Rosewood
Bluefaced Leicester (BFL) is a fine wool that is often described as soft and shiny with excellent drape. It would be wonderful for a shawl or a flowing cardigan. The nylon adds strength and durability, so this yarn would also be perfect for socks.
Hand dyed, superwash, sock/fingering weight yarn. 464 yards/100 grams. 75% superwash Bluefaced Leicester wool, 25% nylon. Yarn is dyed in Rosewood colorway; tonal shades of reddish brown.
Knitting Gauge: 7-8 sts = 1" on #1-3 needles
Crochet Gauge: 21-32 sc = 4” on #B-E hooks
Yarn is hand dyed by me in small batches in my smoke free, dog friendly home. Listing is for one skein. Any accessories used in photos are props and are not included in purchase. I do my best to accurately portray yarn colors in my listings but color may vary slightly due to differences in screens and variances in dye lots.
If you are interested in a sweater quantity, please message me. Since I work out of my home with limited space, I don't typically keep large quantities of each colorway on hand. But most of my colorways are repeatable and a custom order can be created.
Due to the nature of hand dyed yarn, dying yarn in very small batches, changes in dye manufacturer’s formulas, etc, skeins will not be exactly alike. Also, I cannot guarantee that all colorways and bases will be available in the future, so please buy all that you will need for your project.
Yarn and fiber is rinsed and soaked to remove excess dye, but please be aware color may bleed. Please hand wash separately in cool water, and test a swatch if using for colorwork.
I strive to be as sustainable as possible in my work. I use metal free acid dyes, avoid single use plastics in my dying process and use compostable packaging.
